Kanyakumari Eco Park

Isn’t it cool that our Kanyakumari has got a new environment friendly tourist spot to her credit? Yes, the Kanyakumari ECO PARK is an initiative taken by the department of Horticulture with a motive to “attract more tourists, maintain a balance eco system and help researches and students academically”. This park is located at few kilometers away from the roundabout on the National highway 47.
This vast park covers an area of 15 acres, with varied species of plants and tree was inaugurated by chief minister Edapadi K Palaniswami through a video conference on 5th april 2018. The grand entrance takes you to the rock waterfalls, it further leads you through a small wooden bridge and from there Mother Nature takes you to taste its beauty in all corners.
Kids play zone
A special area is dedicated for the kids to enjoy inside the park. The play area is compact and has all the fun rides to keep your kid to do some outdoor play. The parents/ care takers can relax looking at their children play in the concrete seats designed around the play area.
Parks within the park
There are numerous sections inside the park that is dedicated to a particular species of plants, which makes it look like parks within a park.
Example bamboo garden, palm court, hot and cold green house and so many. You will be surprised to see some of the common ‘un noticeable” plants giving you aura that you never imagined before.
Chill out- refreshments
Refreshments will be available inside the park (as of now it isn’t started yet). There is a open restaurant where you can chill out with your friends and family while sharing your food and love along with nature.
As you walk along the park you will be able to see some ancient tress which will make you halt there for a moment to capture its beauty.

The landscape of this park makes you irresistible to take photographs. Planning for wedding outdoor photography please do make your way to this park. And selfie addicts I’m you’re your phone will run out of space.
Those of you from Chennai will definitely feel that this park is a mini “semmozhi poonga” because of its structure and its ambience. Besides all this mentioned above there are still so many features are under construction. Like amphitheatre, stone benches and other amenities.

- An entry fee of Rs.20 is charged for the adults and for the kids it’s Rs.10
- Parking is available for all kinds of vehicles and it is chargeable.
- You can reach the park from Kanyakumari main beach in less than 10 mins.
- Refreshments (shortly the service will be made available) inside the park.
